Oscar nominee Derek Cianfrance has rounded out an impressive cast for true-life heist pic Roofman, his first feature since The Light Between Oceans back in 2016. His M.O. was to drill through the roof during the night or early morning, maintaining a gentle demeanor and rarely resorting to violence over the course of 40-60 estimated robberies, even while holding employees at gunpoint.
Miramax has acquired the picture for select territories, including the U.S., with Paramount to distribute under its first-look deal with the company, releasing the film on October 3, 2025. FilmNation Entertainment handled international sales, and Aperture Media Partners financed.
