Alyssa heeft laten weten sinds kort goed bevriend te zijn met Shannen. Na haar borstkanker diagnose heeft Alyssa contact gezocht met haar voormalig ‘Charmed’ collega en sindsdien houden de twee goed contact via social media. Ze plannen binnenkort waarschijnlijk hun eerste afspraak. Alyssa laat weten dat eerdere ruzies op de set van ‘Charmed’ irrelevant zijn, aangezien het al 15jaar geleden is.
It’s been over a decade since witchy sister show Charmed was on air, but the show’s legacy and stars remains strong. (After all, witches make the best iconic cult pop culture figures.) But fans of the original WB show will know that main cast member Shannen Doherty left the cast amid claims of behind-the-scenes drama. Part of that original drama allegedly involved co-star Alyssa Milano, and the two didn’t speak for years.
But in a new interview, Alyssa revealed that she and Shannen recently started talking again. The instigating cause: Shannen’s cancer diagnosis. The 90210 star’s breast cancer is currently in remission, but Alyssa revealed that she’s been in contact with her former on-screen sister for a while now, and even have plans to meet up in person:
“Shannen and I talk a lot on Twitter via [direct message]. And I spoke to her maybe two or three days ago, and we decided that we’re going to get together. That date has not been set yet, but yes!”
Part of this newfound reconciliation is due simply to the passage of time, of course:
“I think we’re just at ages now that what happens 15 years ago, or however long ago that was, it’s irrelevant … I think that what she has gone through, [and] motherhood in my life, I think it just changes people. I’m so happy that she’s feeling well. I prayed for her every day that she would feel well and I can’t wait to see her.”
