Rupert Evans and Ewan Horrocks will lead the cast of a new four-part limited series, \u201cTruth & Conviction,\u201d to be distributed by \u201cSound of Freedom\u201d distributor Angel Studios. Based on a true story, the series follows Helmuth H\u00fcbener, a teenager who led a resistance group with his two friends during World War II in Hamburg, Germany.<\/p>\n
Evans will play Erwin Mussener, the SS Agent. He is intent on hunting down Helmuth, a young resistance fighter, who will be played by Horrocks. Ferdinand McKay and Daf Thomas also join the cast as Helmuth\u2019s friends and fellow resisters Karl Schnibbe and Rudi Wobbe.<\/p>\n
Horrocks has appeared in Netflix\u2019s British drama series \u201cThe Last Kingdom,\u201d which ran from 2015 until 2022. Evans has portrayed Malcom in horror film \u201cThe Boy,\u201d and appeared in Amazon Prime Video\u2019s \u201cThe Man in the High Castle,\u201d which explores what the world might look like had the outcome of World War II turned out differently.<\/p>\n
Production with Kaleidoscope Pictures is currently underway in Vilnius, Lithuania and the series is expected to be released in early 2025. Casting is led by London-based Sarah Trevis Casting. The series will be shot on location with Gary Tuck and Lineta Mi\u0161eikyt\u0117 of Baltic Film Services.<\/p>\n
\u201cTruth & Conviction\u201d is executive produced by Russ Kendall, John Foss and Jon Erwin. Kaleidoscope Pictures will produce the series. Director Matt Whitaker will share co-writing credits with Ethan Vincent. Bianca Cline will serve as director of photography. Aaron Zigman will serve as composer.<\/p>\n
