Former \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210\u201d star Shannen Doherty is suing her insurance company State Farm for not providing adequate support when her house was damaged in the California wildfires.<\/p>\n
In court documents obtained by The Blast, Doherty claims that the insurance company \u201ctook advantage\u201d of her situation and refused to arrange proper coverage after her property in Malibu suffered severe smoke damage in the Woolsey Fire.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen something doesn\u2019t \u2018go right,\u2019 State Farm will fight its insureds tooth and nail to avoid having to pay out under the policy,\u201d the actress says. \u201cInstead, State Farm will take advantage of the vulnerability and distress of its policy holders when they find themselves in the very situations they paid thousands of dollars in premiums to insure against.\u201d<\/p>\n
Doherty, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, says the whole situation has been \u201cincredibly distressing,\u201d as she is still recovering from \u201cinvasive cancer treatment, including chemo and radiation therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the documents, the \u201cCharmed\u201d star explains how she is still unable to move back into the property because her health condition forbids her from being exposed to smoke or smoke damaged property.<\/p>\n
However, she claims that State Farm only offered two weeks of coverage for temporary residence.<\/p>\n
Doherty is demanding compensation for all losses covered under her insurance policy, and damages for what she alleges is a wrongful denial of benefits, which she says are worth \u201cat least $1.4 million.\u201d<\/p>\n
