And it\u2019s probably no surprise that getting a show picked up for an additional 10 seasons isn\u2019t any easier.<\/p>\n<p>In a conversation with Anthony Anderson as part of Variety\u2019s \u201cActors on Actors\u201d series, Cuoco discussed Penny, the character she\u2019s been playing on \u201cThe Big Bang Theory\u201d for the past 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know better than anyone,\u201d she said to Anderson. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to do a pilot, let alone get picked up for a season, let alone keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She gave a nod to the consistently funny writing by show creator Chuck Lorre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were the underdogs from day one, and people fell quickly in love with them and wanted them to win, wanted them to do well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing that helps? The friendly chemistry between the cast is real. Added Cuoco, \u201cWe really like each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The dynamic between these otherwise geeky and socially awkward geniuses leaves the audience rooting for the characters, she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey fell in love early on with these four guys and wanted them to get the girl, wanted them to get the job, and it made science kind of sexy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Even with the show\u2019s acclaim, Cuoco recognized the rarity of such prolonged success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery single day, we\u2019re shocked when we look at ratings,\u201d Cuoco said. \u201cWe\u2019re shocked that the people still want to see us.
